Nugzar Popkhadze

Nugzar Popkhadze played first base for the USSR national team in the 1990 Goodwill Games. His double off Mexico was the only Soviet extra-base hits and he had a two-hit game against Puerto Rico. He went 3 for 7, leading the team in average and slugging and tying Andrei Kuzich, Ilya Bogatyrev and Yevgeny Puchkov for the team lead in hits; the latter two would play in the US minors.
