Biographical Information[edit]
Norm Ellenberger was a college coach. He is best known as a college basketball coach but also coached baseball as well.
Ellenberger was a three-sport star at Butler University. According to his obituary, he pitched a no-hitter for Butler and was named the Indiana Collegiate Conference Most Outstanding Player in baseball for 1954.
After the 1964 season, he became head baseball coach for Monmouth College. In two seasons, his record was 21-14. He left Monmouth to become an assistant basketball coach at the University of New Mexico. In 1972, he was named head basketball coach for the Lobos. For the rest of his career, he coached basketball including stints as an assistant in the NBA and WNBA.
