Biographical Information[edit]

Nick Lovullo was initially drafted out of high school by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 38th round of the 2012 Amateur Draft but opted to attend college instead at the College of the Holy Cross. The Boston Red Sox drafted him after his junior year in the 34th round of the 2015 Amateur Draft and again in the 20th round of the 2016 Amateur Draft. Lovullo finally signed in 2016 and played in the Red Sox minor league system from 2016-2019, reaching as high as AAA in the latter year.

After the COVID-19 induced shutdown of 2020, Lovullo split 2021 between the Miami Marlins farm system and two independent league teams. In his five minor league seasons Lovullo hit .229/.309/.300 while playing mostly at second base.

The Chicago Cubs hired Lovullo in 2022 as a bench coach with the Tennessee Smokies. He then became a manager with the ACL Cubs in 2023 and South Bend Cubs in 2024.

Nick is the son of Torey Lovullo.
