Nick Bentley played two years in the minor leagues. He hit .246/~.384/.451 with the 1952 Oshkosh Giants, homering 21 times, driving in 136, stealing 15 and drawing 83 walks. He led the Wisconsin State League in both homers and RBI. He played shortstop horribly (.837 fielding, 14 errors in 18 games) and spent most of the year in the outfield. Missing the next two years (presumably due to military service), he returned in 1955 to hit .310 with 24 HR and 87 RBI for the Mayfield Clothiers and .232 with 4 HR and 18 RBI for the St. Cloud Rox. Nick led the KITTY League in circuit clouts, giving him two home run crowns in his two seasons.
