Biographical Information[edit]

Nelvin Fuentes made his minor league debut in 2007.

Fuentes was taken by the Minnesota Twins in the 16th round of the 2007 amateur draft. For the 2007 GCL Twins, he was 1-0 with a 2.77 ERA in 10 games. He missed all of 2008 due to right knee surgery. He returned to the GCL Twins in 2009 and went 1-1 with one save and a 1.29 ERA, striking out 24 in 21 innings. He then made Puerto Rico's roster for the 2009 Baseball World Cup, joining many older and more established players. He played in independent ball through 2014, but played in the Puerto Rican Winter League beyond that.

He was signed by scout Hector Otero.
