Biographical Information[edit]

Neil Sellers played eight seasons of minor league ball.

Sellers attended Eastern Kentucky University, and as a senior, he hit .351 with 12 home runs and 63 RBI. He was then selected by the Houston Astros in the 32nd of the 2004 amateur draft and made his pro debut that summer with the Greeneville Astros, hitting .285 with 2 homers and 30 RBIs in 50 games. With the Salem Avalanche in 2006, he recorded 40 doubles to tie for the Carolina League lead. Following the 2007 season, he was chosen by the Philadelphia Phillies in the AAA phase of the 2007 Rule V draft. Playing for the Reading Phillies in 2008, he led the club with 19 home runs, and back with Reading the following year, he hit .317 and led the Eastern League with 164 hits. He ended his playing career in the Florida Marlins organization in 2011.

Since 2012, Sellers has been Director of the Diamond 5 Baseball Academy in Richmond, Kentucky.
