Ned Colletti

Ned Colletti was named General Manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers in November 2005. Prior to joining the Dodgers, he had been an Assistant GM with the San Francisco Giants since 1997. His son Lou has been a scout. After the end of the 2014 season, team President Stan Kasten hired Andrew Friedman to be the Dodgers' General manager, with the title of President of Baseball Operations, while Colletti stayed on as senior advisor to Kasten. He also worked as an analyst for SportNet LA and gave classes on Sports Management at Pepperdine University. He won an Emmy Award for his television work.

His first job in baseball was in the media relations department of the Chicago Cubs. In 1994, he moved to the West Coast as Director of Baseball Operations for the Giants and later became Assistant General Manager in 1997. In 2019 he made a rather surprising career change, moving to the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League as a professional scout. He explained that he was a lifelong hockey fans, having grown up in the Chicago, IL area as a Blackhawks fan.
