Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Nathan Vineyard was selected by the New York Mets in the supplemental first round of the 2007 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Marlin McPhail for $657,000 and made his pro debut that summer.

Vineyard had made just two starts in his second season before a shoulder injury led to surgery in May. His recovery was expected to take longer than a year, but he never returned to the mound, ultimately playing just 11 games over two seasons in their organization.
