Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman Nate Espy played in the minor leagues from 1998 to 2007. He was taken by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 18th round of the 1998 amateur draft. He remained in the Phillies system through 2003 before playing in the St. Louis Cardinals (2004), Seattle Mariners (2005) and Oakland Athletics (2006) systems, as well as the independent leagues in 2007.

Despite having good power and on-base ability, as well as decent speed, Espy never reached the major leagues and played at Triple A only briefly (2006). In 1,136 games over ten pro seasons, he slashed .286/.393/.466 with 136 home runs, 614 RBI and 67 stolen bases.
