Biographical Information[edit]
Naobumi Mitsuhashi has pitched for JFE Higashi Nihon in the industrial leagues. In the 2011 Baseball World Cup, he tied Hirofumi Yamanaka for the Japanese national team lead in strikeouts (10). He only pitched two games. Against the champion Dutch national team, Mitsuhashi was the 5th of 7 Japanese pitchers. He allowed a walk to Didi Gregorius and plunked Sidney de Jong. Yuichiro Utagawa relieved and allowed a runner to score. Mitsuhashi then got the start against Taiwan and dazzled with a 3-hit, one-run, 10-whiff gem, a Chun-Hsiu Chen being the lone blemish; Naobumi beat minor leaguer Yao-Lin Wang. In 2012, Mitsuhashi led the industrial leagues with a 0.45 ERA yet the 33-year-old veteran went undrafted.
