Mayron Wijman was the starting shortstop for the Netherlands Antilles in the 1988 Baseball World Cup, hitting .205/.222/.318 and making 7 errors in 11 games for a .887 fielding percentage. Statistics are unavailable for Wijman's career from 1989-2007; at some point in this span, he played for ADO in the Hoofdklasse. He hit .297/.392/.422 for Santa Maria in the 2008 Curacao league, at age 40. Despite his age, he was used as the starting second baseman for the Antillean squad in the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup, their first appearance in a major international event since the '88 World Cup. Wijman hit .238/.370/.286 and handled 39 chances without an error as the Antilles won a spot in the 2009 Baseball World Cup.

In the '09 Curacao league, Wijman batted .302/.422/.396. He was then put on the country's roster for the 2009 World Cup. He remained with the Antilles for the 2010 South American Games.
