Biographical Information[edit]

Munenao Ogawa pitched in the NPB and CPBL.

Ogawa was drafted by the Seibu Lions in the 3rd round of the 1986 NPB draft, and he had a 4.91 ERA in 6 appearances in 1987. His ERA was 3.68 in 8 games in 1988, and he recorded a 2.84 ERA in 7 games in 1989. The Lions then traded him with Hirohashi Koju to the Chunichi Dragons for Tatsuo Omiya and Masami Miyashita, but Ogawa only pitched one game for them in 1990. He was then traded to the Kintetsu Buffaloes for Koji Okada, and he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues for the entire 1991 season. Ogawa was released after the 1991 season, and he signed with the Wei Chuan Dragons. Ogawa was the first Japanese player in the CPBL, but he only went 0-1 with a 5.79 ERA in 1992 then he announced his retirement.

Overall, Ogawa was 0-1 with a 4.30 ERA, struck out 17 and pitched 23 innings in 4 years in NPB.
