Biographical Information[edit]
Mose Solomon (sometimes known as Moe) hit .375 in 8 at-bats with the New York Giants in 1923. Playing across town from the New York Yankees and Babe Ruth, he was nicknamed "The Rabbi of Swat".
In 1923 Solomon had set a minor league record with 49 home runs for the Hutchinson Wheat Shockers with a .421 average. This broke Perry Werden's record of 45 set in 1895. Solomon hit a grand total of 78 homers in his nine-year pro career.
