The Mobile White Sox played one year, 1970, in the Southern League. The White Sox played at Hartwell Field. The Mobile, AL team was managed by Tom Saffell and Larry Sherry and went 59-78, 7th place in the 8-team league and one game ahead of the last-place Asheville Tourists. Mobile had no All-Stars and they had the league's worst offense (376 runs). Sherry went 3-4 with a 2.45 ERA on the hill, while Ken Frailing (4-9, 2.71) was 10th in the Southern League in ERA. The team produced no star major-leaguers and was gone after the year was over. They drew 35,775 fans, sixth in the loop.
