Team Bio[edit]

The Mobile BaySharks joined the Texas-Louisiana League in 1994, bringing professional baseball back to Mobile, AL after a 23-year absence. They drew over 100,000 fans despite a poor 34-54 record under manager Ed Jurak. They averaged over two steals per game.

Attendance fell to 81,378 in 1995 as Butch Hobson led the team to a 40-59 mark. Don Carman (5-5, 3.18) was the most prominent name on the team, while Kinnis Pledger hit 21 homers, tied for second in the league. They did not return for the next season.
