Biographical Information[edit]

Mizuki Hori has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Hori was drafted by the Nippon Ham Fighters in the first round of the 2016 NPB draft, but he spent the first two seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues, only pitching 14 games combined. Hori joined the Fighters' big club bullpen in 2019, and he had a 5.22 ERA in 53 appearances. He improved to 1-1 with a 4.19 ERA in 2020, and also collected 14 holds. The young southpaw broke out in 2021, notching a league-leading 39 holds with a 2.36 ERA and won the Pacific League Most Valuable Setup Pitcher Award. However, Hori struggled again in 2022 as his ERA rose to 5.82 in 41 games. He still didn't pitch well even in ni-gun in 2023, and he only had 5 appearances with the big club.
