Biographical Information[edit]
Mitch Thompson has been a college coach.
He got his start as a graduate assistant at Mississippi State University in 1990 then was assistant at Radford University (1991), Mississippi State (1992-1994) and Baylor University (1995-2012). He was recruiting coordinator at Baylor from 1995-2012; his recruiting class was ranked top in the country in 2006 and Baylor went to the 2005 College World Series. In 2013, he was South Texas scouting supervisor for the Kansas City Royals, signing Glenn Sparkman. He then joined McLennan Community College as head coach, staying from 2014-2022. Thompson became head coach at Baylor University in 2023.
