Biographical Information

Mitch Atkins was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 7th round of the 2004 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Billy Swoope and made his pro debut that summer. Mitch made 10 big league appearances from 2009 to 2011, with his 3 career starts coming as a member of the Baltimore Orioles in his final year as a big leaguer. In 22 2/3 innings, his ERA was 6.75. He remained in the game for 20 years after being drafted.
