Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds

The Davenport, IA-based Davenport Blue Sox of the Mississippi Valley League played at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in 1929 and 1930. The fairgrounds are located at 2815 W Locust Street. [1]The ballpark had no lights and was located away from downtown and the Mississippi River riverfront. This led to construction of Municipal Stadium, which opened in 1931. [2]
