Biographical Information[edit]

Misael Siverio debuted in the Cuban Serie Nacional as a teenager for Villa Clara in 2007-2008, going 5-2 with a 4.42 ERA and 36 walks in 57 innings. He made major strides in 2008-2009, going 6-2 with five saves and a 1.64 ERA. He held opponents to a .211 average but walked 31 in 66 innings; he did fan 64. He was put on Cuba's preliminary 58-man roster for the 2009 Baseball World Cup.

Siverio was with the Cuban national team when it traveled to Des Moines, IA in July of 2013 to play an exhibition game against Team USA. He defected on July 17th, the day the team arrived in the States. He signed with the Seattle Mariners and began his professional career with the Jackson Generals in 2015, going 5-12, 4.35 in 26 games. Released by the Mariners, he moved to the independent leagues in 2016, with the Sioux Falls Canaries of the American Association, then moved to the Mexican League in 2017, with the Tigres de Quintana Roo.
