Biographical Information[edit]
Milt Bocek played college baseball at the Wisconsin in the Big 10 and earned an engineering degree. He and a pitcher named Nello Pacetti were the stars of the school's 1933 team. Bocek made his major league debut as an outfielder for the Chicago White Sox in the fall of 1933, a few months after his college team finished its season. In 30 big league games, he batted .267. Bocek later managed the 1940 Gastonia Cardinals.
After his playing days, Bocek worked as an engineer. He also served as a military policeman in the South Pacific during World War II. He died in 2007 at 94.
