College coach Mike Wilson has been involved in baseball for over 40 years.

After playing shortstop in college, Wilson went to an umpire development program. He spent one season working in the Gulf Coast League then worked college and high school games for 20 years. Wilson was an assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh for a year and was an assistant at Mt. Lebanon High School in 1975-1980 and 1991-1992.

Wilson became head coach at Duquesne University in 1993. He set school records for wins in 1998 (22), 1999 (24) and 2002 (26). He helped develop Joe Beimel as well as a number of minor leaguers. In 2010, Duquesne announced baseball was one of four sports it was eliminating, ending Wilson's long run as the school's head coach.

Wilson is the father of major leaguer Josh Wilson.
