Biographical Information

Mike Rikard has been a scout. His father Bob Rikard caught in the minors and his uncle Culley Rikard played in the majors.

Mike was a shortstop in college. He was assistant coach at Wake Forest University (1994-1997, 1999-2000) and Elon College (1998). He also was head coach of the 1999-2000 Bourne Braves. Becoming a scout, Mike worked for the San Diego Padres as an area scout beginning in 2000. In 2004, he moved to the Boston Red Sox as a crosschecker. He signed Colt Morton as an area scout.
