Mike Port
Michael D. Port
- Born July 24, 1945 in Fallbrook, CA USA
Mike Port was a minor league administrator for the San Diego Padres from 1973 to 1977. He moved to the California Angels as director of player development in 1978, assistant GM from 1979 to 1984 and general manager from September 1984 to 1991. Port was assistant GM of the Boston Red Sox from 1993 to 2005 and also was interim GM of the Red Sox during the 2002 season after Dan Duquette was fired following John Henry's purchase of the team.
He is currently the supervisor of major league umpires.
He credits Cliff Dapper and Duke Snider for helping him in his career.
