Biographical Information[edit]

Mike Miller was the third-round draft pick of the Chicago Cubs in the 1985 amateur draft. Two catchers picked later, Rick Wrona (round 5) and Kelly Mann (round 20), would go on to the majors while Miller would only reach AA. Mike hit only .171/~.261/.293 for the 1985 Wytheville Cubs and also went 1 for 2 for the Winston-Salem Spirits. In '86, he returned to Wytheville and hit .236/~.259/.367 with a team-leading 12 doubles. He only walked 6 times and struck out 39 times in 199 AB. His 31 RBI were second on the club to Jerome Walton.

Miller finished his career with three stops in 1987, hitting .179/~.206/.274 in 30 games as Mann's backup for the Peoria Chiefs, 0 for 2 for Winston-Salem and .211/~.250/.263 in 11 contests with the Pittsfield Cubs.
