Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Mike Macfarlane was signed as a 4th round pick in the 1985 amateur draft by the Kansas City Royals and scout Chuck McMichael.
He moved into the starting lineup after an injury to Bob Boone in 1990. Macfarlane set a record for most games caught by a Kansas City Royals player - 798, but this was eventually broken by Salvador Perez.
He was elected to the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
