Biographical Information[edit]
Mike Lawrence played in the minor leagues from 1877 to at least 1911, per his contract card, giving him a professional career of at least 34 seasons. He was also a manager, heading the Waterloo Indians (1895), San Antonio Missionaries (1896), Marion Oilworkers/Peoria Distillers (1904) and Marion Boosters (1909-1911).
Though Baseball-Reference.com lists his birth year as 1864, his contract card lists it as 1857 and FindAGrave.com lists it as 1853.[1]
