Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Mike Kimbrell played in the Los Angeles Dodgers system in 1969 and 1970. He was taken 5th overall in the January 1969 amateur draft, a few picks after shortstop Derrel Thomas and ahead of pitcher Al Hrabosky. He had been recruited to play football at the University of Alabama by Bear Bryant. He played for the Daytona Beach Dodgers in 1969, slashing .222/.237/.306 with no home runs in 21 games; between two clubs in 1970, he hit .211/.288/.270 in 61 games. He stole 10 bases in his career.
