Biographical Information[edit]
The son of Seattle Mariners video coordinator Carl Hamilton, Mike Hamilton was a bat boy and Bullpen catcher for the Texas Rangers. A catcher, he played for Rangers and Atlanta Braves organizations. He also recorded a victory while pitching for the Gastonia Rangers of the South Atlantic League in 1989.
After his playing days ended, Hamilton scouted nine years for the Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau. He was Video Coach for the Colorado Rockies from 2000 to 2006. While in that position, Hamilton pioneered the use of putting video of players' at-bats on iPods and was awarded the "Carl Hamilton Award of Excellence" in 2006. He was promoted to professional scout for the Rockies in 2007.
