Mike Gottlieb has coached college baseball for over 20 years.
A first baseman at Towson State University, Gottlieb went straight from student to assistant coach under Billy Hunter and held that job from 1980-1987. In '88, he became head coach. He was named East Coast Conference Coach of the Year in 1988 and guided the team to ECC league titles in 1988 and 1991. He set a school record with 37 wins in 2001 and was named America East Conference Coach of the Year in 1999. On March 12, 2008, he won his 500th game with Towson. The program was nearly eliminated in 2013 but was saved, albeit with reduced scholarships. He was fired in 2017 with a 733-821-10 career mark.
