Biographical Information[edit]
Mike Fuentes played for Florida State University during the late 1970s. He won the Golden Spikes Award in 1981, after seting a home run record. He was drafted in 5th round of the 1980 amateur draft by the Minnesota Twins but didn't sign. The following year on June 8, 1981 Fuentes was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 2nd round of the 1981 amateur draft. He played behind Andre Dawson during two brief September call-ups in Montreal. Fuentes had 9 games with 8 at bats and only 2 hits.
