Biographical Information[edit]
Mike Dunn was drafted by the New York Yankees as a draft-and-follow pick in the 33rd round of the 2004 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Jeff Patterson and made his pro debut in 2005.
On August 14, 2014, he recorded his 10th win of the season for the Miami Marlins over the Arizona Diamondbacks. That made him the leading winner on the Marlins staff, but as all of his wins had come in relief, it also set a new franchise record for most relief wins. Robb Nen (1997) and Edward Mujica (2011) had shared the previous record of 9 such wins.
On July 11, 2015, Dunn recorded his first career hit in his 7th major league season, in the middle of a team record streak of 9 consecutive hits by the Marlins against the Cincinnati Reds; as a career middle reliever, it was only his 5th lifetime at-bat.
