Biographical Information[edit]
Mike DePangher was born and died in California, but came across the country to play four games at catcher for the 1884 Philadelphia Quakers. His manager was baseball pioneer Harry Wright.
Mike had played for San Francisco as early as 1879 and from 1888-90 played for Stockton. He managed at Stockton / Sacramento in 1893.
The book Runs, Hits and an Era: The Pacific Coast League, 1903-58 mentions DePangher as an early Hispanic player.
