Biographical Information[edit]

Mike Daniel was originally from New Orleans, LA and moved to the Charlotte, NC area when he was 13. He was drafted into professional baseball by the Washington Nationals in the 7th round of the 2005 amateur draft from the University of North Carolina. Daniel was an outfielder in the Nationals system from 2005-2010. He finished the 2010 season in the Atlanta Braves system and played in the Colorado Rockies organization in 2011. Daniel made brief appearances in AAA in both 2009 and 2010. Overall Daniel hit .257 with an OPS of .712 in his seven minor league seasons. He played his final professional season with the independent Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the Atlantic League in 2012.

After completing his playing career, Daniel did some amateur coaching in the Charlotte area where he lived, but information on this is very sparse. He joined the professional coaching ranks in 2020 when the Chicago White Sox hired him as a coach for the Charlotte Knights before the minor league season was cancelled due to COVID-19. Daniel was hitting coach for the Winston-Salem Dash in 2021.
