Biographical Information

Miguel Perez pitched for Camagüey of the Cuban National Series before defecting in 1999. Perez made his U.S. pro debut in the independent Northern League in 2000, which began an on-again, off-again U.S. pro career that saw him make several independent league stops before finally signing with the New York Mets in 2006, some seven years after leaving Cuba.
