Biographical Information[edit]

Signed by the Seattle Pilots as an amateur free agent, Miguel Fuentes was assigned to the Class A Clinton Pilots (Midwest League), where he went 8-2 with a 1.46 ERA. He was called up by the Pilots after rosters expanded in September of 1969, and had a 1-3 record with a 5.19 ERA for the last-place team. In the team's final game, he pitched a scoreless ninth inning, and was the last pitcher used in Pilots history. During the off-season, he was shot and killed in a bar fight in his home town in Puerto Rico.
