Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Mike Mergenthaler played in the San Francisco Giants' chain in 2011-2012 and for the independent Rockford Aviators briefly in 2013. In 113 games as a pro, he hit .239/.318/.360 with 58 runs and 48 RBI in 113 games, fielding .954 and going 8-for-11 in steal attempts.

Mergenthaler was hitting coach of the 2017-2018 DSL Indians/Brewers and bench coach of the Lynchburg Hillcats in 2019. He was scheduled to be the Lake County Captains hitting coach in 2020 before COVID-19 shut down the minor league season. Mergenthaler was bench coach of the Akron RubberDucks in 2021 and assistant hitting coach of Akron in 2022. He was then hitting coach of Akron in 2023 and the Columbus Clippers in 2024.
