Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Michael Main was selected by the Texas Rangers in the first round of the 2007 amateur draft.
Main had a 7.71 ERA in 2 1/3 innings for the USA junior team in the 2006 World Junior Championship. A year later, he was picked 24th in the 2007 amateur draft by the Texas Rangers, compensation for the loss of Gary Matthews Jr. to free agency. He was signed by scout Guy DeMutis and debuted with the AZL Rangers with 1 2/3 scoreless innings on July 17 against the AZL Giants.
On July 1, 2010 Main was traded with Chris Ray to the San Francisco Giants for Bengie Molina.
