Michael Andersson has pitched for the Swedish national team.

Andersson debuted in the Elitserien in 2004 with the Sundbyberg Heat, going 4-2 with a 4.50 ERA as a teenager. In 2005, he slumped to 0-4, 9.72, allowing 32 walks and 49 hits in 29 2/3 IP. He had a 2-2, 7.63 record in 2006 with 23 walks and 43 hits in 30 2/3 innings. He also hit .208/~.333/.230 as their primary first baseman.

In 2007, the young right-hander batted .312/~.450/.375 and posted a 7-4, 6.17 record. During 2008, he was 7-4 with a 4.00 ERA and hit .263 in reduced time in the field. He debuted that summer for Sweden's national team but they did not play in any major events that year. He moved to the Karlskoga Bats for 2009.
