Metropolitan of New York

The Metropolitan of New York club was an amateur club that began play as early as 1857. Their first documented game took place on March 4th of that year. They played into the 1860s but when they joined the National Association of Base Ball Players and when exactly they folded remains unknown. They played their home games at the Metropolitan Grounds at Hamilton Square.
