Biographical Information[edit]
Mel "Primo" Preibisch appeared in 11 games with the Boston Bees in 1940 and 5 more with the Boston Braves - the same team's new name - in 1941. He was an outfielder who played mostly centerfield.
Mel was born (and died) in Sealy, TX, fifty miles from Houston, TX. He attended the University of Texas in 1934-1936 and started in the minors with the 1936 Waterloo Hawks. His minor league career lasted six years.
Mel served in the Navy in World War II [1] and seems to have played service ball in 1944-1945. [2] [3] [4]
He scouted for the Chicago White Sox in 1948-1980.
