Meinen Field
Meinen Field in Peoria, IL, was the first home of the Peoria Chiefs of the Midwest League. Peoria businessman Pete Vonachen bought and moved the Danville Suns in 1983, keeping the Suns nickname for one season before rebranding the club as the Peoria Chiefs in 1984.
Meinen was renamed Pete Vonachen Field in 1982, then renovated for soccer and renamed Shea Stadium in 2003.
