Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Maxwell Sapp was selected by the Houston Astros in the first round of the 2006 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Jon Bunnell and made his pro debut that year, hitting .229 in 50 games with the Tri-City Valley Cats.

In December 2008 Sapp was hospitalized with meningitis, effectively ending his baseball career.
