Biographical Information[edit]

Mauro Prompero pitched two seasons in Italy's Serie A1, going 3-6 with a 6.37 ERA for Verona in 1994 and 2-7 with a 5.94 ERA in 1995. [1] He still made the Italian national team for the 1995 European Championship. He only made one appearance for the Silver Medal winners, relieving Massimiliano Masin in the 6th with a 13-0 lead over Germany. He walked Tarek Shaer, who was driven in by Sven Huhnholz for Germany's lone run; he also allowed a Oliver Fimmers hit while retiring Ole Drews, Huhnholz and Klaus Knuttel. Emiliano Ginanneschi succeeded him in the 7th. He had Italy's highest ERA; Massimo Fochi was next at 7.27 but he had a better mark than the Ukrainian national team and Slovenian national team. [2]
