Biographical Information

Matthias Group has played in the Belgian First Division.

Group debuted in 2009 with the Hoboken Pioneers, going 9 for 39 with two steals. He went 1 for 5 with two walks in the 2009 European Junior Championship as a bench player for Belgium. In 2010, he hit .282/.364/.359 for Pioneers. He became a starter for Hoboken in 2011 and batted .244/.329/.267 with 7 steals in 8 tries at age 18. In the 2011 European Cup, he was 6 for 17 with two walks as one of Hoboken's top performers. He reached base 3 of 4 times in Hoboken's upset of the German Heidenheim Heidekopfe club.
