Biographical Information

Matt Jones has been a college coach.

Jones was 0-1 with a 7.97 ERA for the 1995 Butte Copper Kings. He went 148-126-2 as head coach of Elizabethtown College from 2000-2006. In 2007, he became head coach of Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. He set a school record with 28 wins his first year, then won 39 the next year and took them to the 2008 Division II College World Series. He also guided them to the 2013 Division II College World Series. Through 2022, he was 545-513-3 as a college head coach and had won two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Coach of the Year awards.
