The son of Luigi Ugolotti, Matteo Ugolotti has played in the Italian Baseball League.

Ugolotti debuted in 2009, going 0 for 13 with 8 strikeouts and two walks for Parma. He saw increased action as a backup outfielder, 2B and 3B in 2010, hitting .250/.344/.289 in 32 games, though still striking out a lot (28 times in 76 AB). He was 2 for 7 in the 2010 Italian Series, which Parma won, their first title in 13 years. In the 2011 European Cup, Matteo went 5 for 12 with two walks and two RBI in the phase hosted by Parma; they advanced to the Final Four.
