Biographical Information

Pitcher Matthew Torra was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2005 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Matt Merullo and made his pro debut that summer with the Yakima Bears, going 0-1 with a 1.80 ERA in 5 games. He posted the same record and earned run average the next year in 7 games with the South Bend Silver Hawks.
