Biographical Information[edit]

Matt Pliszka played in the minor leagues from 1946 to 1952. He began his pro career at 17 years old.

He had only one season of 100+ hits and it was by far the best campaign of his career. In 1948, he hit .317 with 145 hits and 21 doubles in 133 games for the Kinston Eagles. Overall, he hit .257 with 575 hits in 705 games.

He served with the Army in the Korean War.
