Marvin Bleij is an infielder in Hoofdklasse. In 2004, he hit .328 for Sparta/Feyenoord to finish 6th in the league. He batted .299/.408/.412 for Sparta/Feyenoord in 2005 but only fielded .831 at his main position, third base. In 2006, now with ADO, he improved his fielding at third to .927 and he hit .323/.413/.354, placing 13th in average.
During the 2007 Hoofdklasse, the ADO infielder slumped to .254/.348/.277. He did field .949 at shortstop and .940 at third base. He joined the Amsterdam Pirates for 2008 and batted .282/.386/.323, fielding .918 at shortstop. He was just 2 for 15 with 4 walks in the playoffs but then excelled in the 2008 Holland Series, going 6 for 13 with a walk, double and 4 runs to help Amsterdam to their first Holland Series title in over two decades. He had four hits in the finale to help lead the Pirates to victory.
Bleij was 3 for 12 with two walks in the Nettuno phase of the 2009 European Cup. In the Final Four phase, he was 0 for 6 and made two errors, including one that set up the loss in the 3rd/4th place game.
